LIQUID STRUCTURAL ADHESIVES, HOT-MELT, SPRAY AND SEALANTS

An adhesive is a natural origin substance (glue) or a synthetic origin one (resin), non metal, able to bond in a stable way two surfaces of every kind of material. Adhesives are employed when the mechanical fixing or the double-adhesive tapes one are not at their best. Rivets, bolts, screws, weldings, ensure - by their nature - a high break resistance, solidity, rapidity and apparently they are not expensive. Anyway, it is not always possible or convenient to use them: let’s think to the surfaces which cannot be easily drilled or to all those factors that - on a long period - compromise the duration of the joint inevitably (vibrations, oxidation, tension areas, etc.). Sometimes the use of the double-sided adhesive tape is not even possible. This is the case of particular applications in which the conditions require the use of an adhesive liquid mass (thread lockers, micro-applications, processes automation, etc.). The usage of glues often requires specific dispensers which allow to better the bonding processes in an easy, precise and controlled way. The dispensers are available either in manual or pneumatic version. Some of them heat-activate the glues, melting them in order to be applied; others regulate the mixing ratio as for the cases of two-parts (catalyst-reagent). The employ of these devices allows to apply the glues in points or in continuous beads, besides ensuring cleanness and rapidity in industrial applications.
